TG - Second Set
Highlights - opened with "Persuasion", a deeply unpleasant "Hamburger Lady", a frenetic "What A Day" and a truly blistering "Discipline". Played, once again, with house lights full on the whole second set. "We want you to see us," says Gen. "We're beautiful people." Peter Christopherson now resplendent in an outfit that suggests what might have happened had 101 Dalmatians had an unhappier ending and been set in the Middle East.
TG - In The Shadow Of The Sun
A one hour performance of the band's original soundtrack to Derek Jarman's 1980 16mm film In The Shadow Of The Sun, accompanying the film of the same name. Ominous and ritualistic in tone, let down just a touch by the daylight still visible through the upper windows of the auditorium and the bloke behind me who dropped his beer.

We're off to see the Gristle...
...The wonderful Gristle of Throb. Updates tomorrow from the TG show in Chicago, including pictures if I can work out how to do it. Mild sense of foreboding about the gig given Chris Carter's recent Twitter update: "The sub-bass really moved some air tonight. " Hmmm. Air, or stomachs?
