Every Day Is Like Sunday

One more for Mozzer's birthday while I'm trawling YouTube instead of getting my finger out and reviewing the Manics new album (10, btw). Brilliant performance of Subway Train/Everyday Is Like Sunday from 2004's Move Festival in Manchester - crowd reaction actually seems to momentarily stun the normally unflappable Morrissey.

Random YouTube Friday:
Morrissey - Jack The Ripper

Moz is 50 today. A documentary, Passions Just Like Mine, about his rabid Latin American fanbase, is currently screening in select US cities.

New Release Tuesday

New stuff today yesterday from ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, needing a decent comeback after some mediocre major label efforts, and Morrissey, whose newest release is long on wit, somewhat short on tunes, but still an improvement over Ringleader Of The Tormentors. Opening track, "Something Is Squeezing My Skull" off Jimmy Kimmel live, below. This is the one blog you will not find that eyeball destroying picture of Moz and the boys in the nuddy. You're quite welcome.

New Moz

Morrissey's back, more Smiths-sounding than for several years, with a new single, "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" that bodes well for upcoming and recently leaked album Years Of Refusal after 2006's disappointing Ringleader of the Tormentors, which in turn came after 2004's victorious return to form You Are The Quarry

Things don't appear to have gone terribly well in the interim however, as the gentleman who two years ago appeared to be on an atypically candid (and successful) quest for arse (the only recent lyrical visual I could have done without more than "explosive kegs between my legs" is Robert Smith singing about getting sucked off on the last Cure album) is now well back to form, throwing his arms around the titular city because "only stone and steel accept my love." Careful mate, you could get a nasty scratch.
