New out today is the second album from surprisingly non-appalling actress-sings project She & Him (Matt Ward & Zooeeyeeooeey Deschanel). The first album passed me by but this isn't bad at all. Gets a bit twee in places, but there's some good stuff, much of it mining a big 60s pop/girl group template with considerable charm. Good summer album. Out on Merge on CD and vinyl (includes mp3 code). Amazon's got the MP3 d/l for a fiver for you ingrate soft copy types. Standouts include leadoff "Thieves" and NRBQ cover "Ridin' In My Car". First single "In The Sun" below.
Also out today, new Goldfrapp (Head First), although the vinyl's not out for a couple more weeks.
